Combined BS/MS Program Overview

The combined B.S./M.S. program is structured in that it is possible to obtain both a Bachelors and Masters Degree within a 5 year period. Students with a combined B.S./M.S. in atmospheric sciences position themselves for admission and funding opportunities in competitive Ph.D. programs.

Those who intend to participate in the combined B.S./M.S. program must officially declare interest after completing 90 credits of coursework including at least 12 credit hours of 400 level AOSC courses. For immediate consideration, students must have an overall minimum GPA of 3.0 and a 3.3 (“B+”) or above in courses required for the major. The GRE is not required. It is recommended that students discuss their intent to apply with their academic advisor during their sophomore year.

IMPORTANT APPLICATION INFORMATION

The Resume/CV and Description of Research/Work Experience sections are not required, only the sections with a red bar to the left as stated in the instructions.

This optional section is for applicants that may have had significant research experience or work experience to expand upon outside of the general 'statement of purpose';  a statement of purpose discusses past academic and research achievements and how attending graduate school in AOSC fits into your career trajectory.
